The Globe Schools Program

The Globe Program involves a number of schools and youth organizations all over the world who conduct a number tests involving the environment. The results from these test are then sent via the Internet, on a monthly basis to a group of scientists who are compiling a data bank to be used in studying the global environment. The tests involve various aspects of the
environment including Atmosphere/Climate, Hydrology, Land Cover/Biology, Soil
Characterization, Soil Moisture and Temperature and GPS investigations. Due to our
involvement with the Uhmhlatuzana river we conduct experiments for the Hydrology and GPS investigations. The hydrology investigations include various tests:

Water temperature; Transparency; Water pH; Dissolved  Oxygen;
Water Alkalinity; Electrical Conductivity and Nitrate Tests.

We conduct GPS investigations in order to determine the Latitude, Longitude and
Elevation of our six sampling sites.
, information also needed for the data bank.
